Location & Transit Directions
Day 1 Venue: MSU Franklin Center
The Franklin Center is a part of the Sustainable Bioproducts Department on the south side of the Mississippi State University campus at 201 Locksley Way, Starkville, MS. This is part of MSU campus so parking will be through an app called Park Mobile available in the app or play store. Once logged in the parking area is 3045 and should cost around $5.45 to park for the day.
From Downtown Starkville: Head south on S Montgomery St, turn left onto Locksley Way, and the facility will be on your right. Parking is available directly adjacent to the building.
Day 2 Venue: East Mississippi Pole Company
The treating plant is located at 14877 US-45, Macon, MS 39341.
Safety Note: This is an active industrial yard. Hard Hat, Safety Glasses, High-visibility vests and sturdy footwear are required for the outdoor field practicum.
Inter-Site Route (Day 1 to Day 2)
The trip from the MSU Franklin Center to East Mississippi Pole Company spans approximately 32.5 miles and takes about 41 minutes by car.
Head east on Locksley Way toward S Montgomery St.
Take Oktoc Rd and Moor High Rd southeast toward the highway.
Merge onto US-45 ALT S.
Follow US-45 ALT S directly south into Macon, arriving at the facility on Highway 45.
