FREE- Wood Pole Structure Design Course
The North American Wood Pole Council is sponsoring a Wood Pole Structure Design Course in St. Louis, Missouri on September 18 – 20, 2012. The course, normally $795.00 per attendee, is free to utility and coop personnel. Due to the technical nature of material, the course is limited to 40 attendees. The Council reserves the right to limit number of attendees per company.
The attendee will learn to design wood electrical distribution structures. This will include calculating strength and maximum allowable spans for wind and ice loading, guy loading due to tension and wind, and non-design aspects of wood structures. Course includes an extensive design and reference guide.
The training will be held at the St. Louis Airport Marriott. The instructor will be Richard Lovelace with Hi-Line Engineering. Attendees completing this course will earn 18 Professional Development Hours.
